Harry Maguire is an English professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team. He plays as a center-back player for different teams.
Harry Maguire was born on 05 March 1993 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. He is currently 31 years old. He started his career by coming through the youth system at Sheffield United before graduating to the first team in 2011. He made 166 appearances for Sheffield United and was the club’s Player of the Year for three seasons. He moved to Hull City for £2.5 million in 2014 before being loaned to Wigan Athletic in 2015. Early Life
Harry Maguire was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and grew up in the nearby village of Mosborough. He wanted to become a footballer since his childhood. He was educated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Primary School in Spinkhill and St Mary’s Roman Catholic High School in Chesterfield. His brothers, Joe and Laurence, are also footballers.
Club Career
After coming through the youth system at Sheffield United he was then promoted to the first-team squad and made his first debut after coming on as a half-time substitute and won the man of the match award in a home match against Cardiff City in April 2011. He further made four appearances that season. After making his place in the first team, Maguire scored his first goal for Sheffield United in a 2-0 win away Oldham Athletic on the opening day of the 2011-12 League One Season.
On 29 July 2014, Harry Maguire transferred to Hull City in a deal worth £2.5 million signing a three-year contract. On 21 August, he made his debut for the Tigers in the UEFA Europe League. He made only six appearances across all competitions at Hull City. After that, he joined Wigan Athletic of the Championship on a one-month loan deal on 10 February 2015. After a week he debuted in a 1-0 win at reading.
On 15 June 2017, he joined the Premier League club Leicester City after signing on five-year professional contract for an initial fee of £12 million, potentially rising to £17 million with add-ons. On 11 August he was seen making his debut as the season began with a 4-3 loss at Arsenal and after eight days he was seen making his first goal for the Foxes, heading in Riyad Mahrez’s corner to conclude a 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at the King Power Stadium. Because of his great performance in the season, he was awarded Player of the Season. After that, he transferred to Manchester United for a potential world-record fee for a defender. In July 2009, he was signed by Manchester United for a very high fee of £70 million. He was also appointed as the club’s captain because of his great performance.
