Dele Alli is an English professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League club Everton. He has previously played for various clubs in different leagues. Alli typically operates as an attacking midfielder for the teams. He encountered numerous challenges during his childhood due to his parents. Recently, he opened up about the difficulties he faced with his Nigerian father while growing up, expressing feelings of deception by both of his parents.
Dele Alli was born on April 11, 1996, in Milton Keynes, England. His full name is Bamidele Jermaine Alli. He was born to Kehinde Kenny Alli and Denise Alli and is currently around 28 years old. He has two siblings named Harry Hickford and Molly Hickford. He attended Radcliffe School and Stantonbury School.
Dele Alli was born to a Nigerian father and an English mother. However, in a heartbreaking revelation, Alli shared that he didn’t have a good relationship with either of his parents. He recounted difficult moments in his life, including starting smoking at the age of seven and being assaulted by his mother’s friend. Reports from Soccernet and Sportible indicate that Alli clarified his strained relationship with his father, stating that he felt offended by him when he was young and expressing a desire to have no further contact with him.
Dele Alli shared his feelings about his parents.
“I had no rules. I didn’t grow up with any rules. My mum drank a lot, and I understand her better now because of what she was going through. My biological father lived in Africa, and I was sent to him to stay with him for a year, which was horrible experience. I didn’t want to be there at all. It was a significant culture change, and after six months, I was sent back, and I didn’t speak to him again.”
“He went missing for a while, and then, when I started playing for England, he came back. Around the age of eighteen, they went to the press to accuse my adopted family of taking advantage of me and expresses a desire to review my contracts. Since I hadn’t spoken to him for years, I knew it was not my mum’s decision. Feeling betrayed and let down, I had to sever ties with my mum, and as for my dad, I don’t want a relationship with him anyway.”
